Colson Kelly (aka Machine Gun Kelly) is a rapper who is known for his unique style. Baker was born the 22nd of April, 1991 in Houston Texas U.S. into an extended family of English Scottish and German descent. His parents were missionaries and throughout his childhood, he traveled a lot along with them. James Colson Baker suffered from depression and was unemployed, while Sonia Alane abandoned them at the age of nine. Baker's dad moved with Baker to Denver and lived with the aunt of his father. Baker's lack of resources was a reason to be bullied by children around him. In the sixth grade, Baker began listening to rap. The music he composes is a blend of contemporary, alternative hip-hop along with rock. Baker has released four mixtapes in 2007 through 2010 before signing with Bad Boy Records. The career of the rapper took off from there, with all of his releases making it to the top 10 charts.
